Interstate Tractor

Rooted in Waterloo, Iowa, the Interstate Tractor Company emerged in 1915, evolving from the foundations of the Sandy McManus Engine Company. Their early tractor models, known as the Plow Boy and Plow Man, were skillfully constructed utilizing parts sourced from external suppliers. By the conclusion of World War I, Interstate had cultivated a substantial network of buyers both within the United States and across international borders. However, the company’s fortunes reversed sharply in 1919, leading to its eventual dissolution shortly after 1920.
