Le Roi
Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Le Roi company specialized in the creation of engines serving diverse industrial needs. A significant turning point arrived in 1940 with the acquisition of Centaur Tractor Corporation. Centaur produced a range of robust industrial tractors powered by Le Roi engines, with the Le Roi Tractair series being particularly noteworthy. These tractors featured a unique six-cylinder engine configuration: four cylinders dedicated to combustion, while the remaining two functioned as an integrated air compressor. In 1954, Westinghouse—later known as WABCO—brought Le Roi into its portfolio, ultimately leading to the discontinuation of tractor manufacturing during the 1960s.
