Mercedes-Benz

Before uniting in 1925, both Daimler and Benz were independently engaged in the construction of agricultural machinery. Benz notably pioneered the first commercially available diesel-powered tractor in 1922. Mercedes-Benz continued tractor production through the 1930s, later re-entering the agricultural sector in 1950 with the acquisition of Boeringer Unimog – a versatile, four-wheel-drive vehicle equipped with both a power take-off and three-point linkage. The Mercedes-Benz name once again graced tractors in 1973 with the introduction of the MB Trac, an innovative four-wheel-drive model boasting three-point hitch capability at both its front and rear. The distinct MB Trac design was then transferred to Schluter in 1980, culminating in the end of its production run in 1991.
