Roper lawn tractors

Throughout the latter portion of the 20th century, Roper stood as a prominent American producer of tools for lawns and gardens. The company’s journey into crafting outdoor power equipment commenced in 1964 with the acquisition of the David Bradley manufacturing facility by the George D. Roper Company from Sears. For the subsequent three decades, Roper remained a dedicated supplier of lawn care solutions to Sears. A new chapter unfolded in 1989 when General Electric (GE) integrated Roper into its portfolio, eventually divesting the outdoor unit to AB Electrolux. Roper’s legacy then became interwoven with American Yard Products (AYP), a division that also encompassed the renowned Husqvarna brand. Ultimately, this division evolved into an independent entity operating under the distinguished Husqvarna name.
