New Holland TL5 Accessible Tractor
Revolutionary New Holland Tractor Opens Doors for Farmers with Limited Mobility
CNH – December 12, 2023
A groundbreaking tractor, the first of its kind globally, is poised to redefine independence for agricultural workers facing lower limb disabilities. Crafted in Curitiba, Brazil, the TL5 ‘Acessivel’ emerged from a collaborative effort involving leading inclusive mobility firms – Elevitta, Arteprima, and Senai of Sao Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul.
In 2022, Fernando Dalmolin, a dedicated New Holland customer, suffered a life-altering accident when a falling tree trunk caused significant injury. Following 60 days of hospitalization, surgery, and a severe infection, Fernando found himself navigating life as a paraplegic. Driven by an unwavering commitment to his livelihood, Fernando enthusiastically contributed his expertise to the conception and launch of the TL5 Acessivel.
"This innovation represents a vital lifeline for individuals like myself, offering the opportunity to pursue meaningful work within the fields independently. I am deeply gratified and invigorated to be involved in this pioneering endeavor," Fernando shared with enthusiasm.
A recent nationwide health assessment indicates that 7.8 million Brazilian citizens live with lower limb disabilities. A substantial number reside in rural areas and stand to significantly benefit from this transformative technology.
"The introduction of this accessible tractor is about more than simply unveiling a new product; it’s about fostering empowerment. We aim not only to introduce cutting-edge technology to the agricultural machinery sector but also to enable individuals with disabilities to maintain their professional lives with dignity and self-reliance," explained Paulo Maximo, Director of Commercial Marketing for New Holland Agriculture Latin America.
