New Holland Unveils the T9 SmartTrax with PLM Intelligence for the 2025 Model Year
New Holland – February 14, 2024
When facing the most challenging agricultural tasks, the correct ground contact system – whether wheeled or tracked – is absolutely critical. New Holland’s launch of the T9 SmartTrax featuring PLM Intelligence for the 2025 model year introduces a track system engineered to deliver exceptional performance, regardless of the conditions encountered in the field.
“The T9 SmartTrax with PLM Intelligence embodies our tradition of innovation,” explains Ken Paul, product marketing manager for New Holland’s high-horsepower tractors. “It represents far more than a simple upgrade to a track system; it’s a firm commitment to farmers, founded on the principles of ingenuity, efficiency, capability, and adaptability.”
Conquering the Terrain with T9 SmartTrax
The T9 SmartTrax with PLM Intelligence showcases a suite of class-leading features designed to boost performance and streamline routine maintenance.
The inclusion of sophisticated oscillating roller wheels and vibration-dampening suspension mounts within the track system dramatically improves ride comfort and prevents uneven wear during transitions between fields. To simplify daily upkeep, transparent track system hubcaps have been integrated, granting unobstructed access to essential components. This new track system for the T9 tractor also simplifies maintenance and optimizes track tension by eliminating manual adjustments with its automatic tensioning system – a feature that can significantly extend the lifespan of the track belt.
Available for agricultural applications on five 2025 T9 models – T9.520, T9.580, T9.615, T9.655, and T9.700 – ranging from 475 to 645 rated horsepower, the SmartTrax system ensures robust performance across diverse terrains while maximizing operational efficiency and protecting the integrity of the land.
Covering More Ground with Fewer Interruptions
Speed and maneuverability stand out as key benefits operators will experience with the SmartTrax system. Combining access to a range of high-horsepower T9 models with an increase in maximum vehicle speed for optimal productivity, operators will notice a remarkable improvement in road speed, now reaching up to 25 mph. This enables quicker and more efficient field-to-field travel, ensuring every aspect of the operation runs smoothly.
Offering versatility for a variety of applications, the T9 SmartTrax provides multiple track belt options. These include two width choices – 30-inch and 36-inch – and a selection of three different belt brands to choose from.
Further enhancements include a 47% increase in fuel capacity for the 2025 T9 SmartTrax tractors, made possible by the design of the SmartTrax system and its lower profile compared to the fuel tank. Fuel capacity now stands at 455 gallons, contributing to prolonged run times and reduced refueling stops.
An additional feature integrated into the T9 SmartTrax design is the swinging cab entry steps. These automatically pivot as the tractor articulates, preventing the ladder from extending beyond the tracks and ensuring easier and safer access to and from the cab.
The T9 SmartTrax is backed by warranty coverage designed to give customers added confidence. Options include up to a five-year warranty on select belts, providing ongoing support throughout the ownership experience.
“Maximizing productivity is at the core of the T9 SmartTrax,” Paul states. “With this system, we're delivering unparalleled track performance that minimizes non-productive tractor time – such as field-to-field movement and refueling – to optimize operator efficiency in the field and reduce overall job completion time.”
The T9 SmartTrax will be available for the 2025 model year, with orders being accepted beginning in summer 2024 at authorized New Holland dealerships.
